Argos get 8th win of the season
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The offense kept rolling in No. 20 West Florida’s 5-2 win over NAIA opponent Mobile in non-conference women’s soccer action at the UWF Soccer Complex on Tuesday night. Sophomore Jodi-Ann Robinson (Richmond, British Columbia/Palmer Secondary School) notched her third multi-goal performance over the last four games and extended her team lead to 14 goals this year.
UWF (8-2) saw four different players score, as senior Shakira Duncan (Kingston, Jamaica/Darton) scored her 11th of the year and junior Jordan Stone (Fort Walton Beach, Fla./Fort Walton Beach HS) and sophomore Tori Fish (Bellaire, Texas/Bellaire HS) each scored their second of the season.
Fish put the Argonauts on the board first, scoring off a rebound of a shot by Duncan in the 11th minute. Duncan picked up a second assist on the team’s second goal at the 29:46 mark, as she crossed the ball inside to Robinson open for her first goal of the day. Mobile (5-4-1) scored their first of the night with seven minutes left in the first half when Kassie Ruff controlled the ball off a failed clearance and scored inside the left post.
