Tallahassee evens conference record with victory over Chipola, 66-59.

MARIANNA, Fla. - Mansa El scored a career-high 24 points and FCCAA No. 4/NJCAA No. 11 Tallahassee Community College held on to defeat FCCAA No. 10 Chipola College, 66-59, in Panhandle Conference basketball action on Saturday evening.

For TCC, the win was especially big. Coupled with Gulf Coast Community College's 76-50 win over Northwest Florida State College, the Lady Eagles (16-6, 4-4) now have a two-game lead over Northwest Florida State (2-6) for third place in the PC standings with four games remaining in the regular season.

Chipola (11-13) is still alive in the race for the postseason but, with a 1-7 PC mark, trails TCC by three games.

Midway through the first half, TCC broke an 18-all tie with a 9-2 run to grab a 27-20 advantage. The Lady Eagles eventually took a 27-22 lead to the intermission.

In the second half, TCC extended its lead to double-digits before fighting off a gutsy effort by Chipola, who was playing with only six players.

El's career effort was backed by Porche' Bentley, who added ten points.

Bianca Jarrett lead Chipola with 24.

TALLAHASSEE (66) - Consolo Palmer, 3; Keri Thomas, 4; Tyesha Robinson, 9; Symonne Davis, 3; Porche' Bentley, 10; Spring Roberson, 2; Ashley White, 4; Samantha Smith, 7; Mansa El, 24.

CHIPOLA (59) - Bianca Jarrett, 24; Tykiesha O'Neil, 16; Ance Celmina, 6; Malesha Petterson, 12; Lindsey Carr, 1.
