Panthers and Indians end Kick-Off Classic in 0-0 tie.

Under new leadership, the Choctaw Indians hosted the Milton Panthers in the Kick-Off Classic Friday night.

The Panthers freshmen and junior varsity squads combined to win the first half 10-0.

Milton returns six starters on defense, but was without star safety Dedrick Simmons, who sat out the game with an ankle injury.

The offense was led by running back Cody Johnson with 29 rushing yards and quarterback Mike McMillon with 31 passing yards, but was plagued by a couple of untimely fumbles and dropped passes.

Wide receiver Ethan Powell had all 31 receiving yards for the Panthers.

Both defenses dominated and played very hard to set the tone.

The Panthers now prepare for an impressive Fort Walton Beach squad that topped Niceville 20-3 in their one of half of play Friday night, while Choctaw will start their season against Gulf Breeze.
